May 2019 Sew Day

may2019-1

may2019-2

Hi Everyone:
We had a visitor surprise us for sewing day, and she drove 3 hours worth to get here. Trella Whaley won’t be able to make it every month, but plans on being here for our July sew day. She was early, and jumped right in with helping set up the tables and get everything organized. She continued thru the day by doing the final pinning with the ribbons, so we got more accomplished than expected. Morgan brought her three boys, and Sue brought her little girl Emma. Jonathan brought some of the yummmiest cookies I can remember eating in years!! Everyone loved them!!

Many blessings to you all for all the amazing work each and everyone of you do!

March 2019 Sew Day

march2019

Well, as with everything, there is never a dull moment for the Crafty Weasels. We met as usual last Saturday at Bookdale Senior Center in Roswell, but we didn’t have a very smooth start to the day. They were still renovating the room we use, by putting the flooring down, so we moved twice before finally settling into a good rhythm to get our sewing going. Our last location was good because at the end when we loaded out, it was so easy we didn’t even need the red wagons! lol

February 2019 Sew Day

feb2019

Well, we did some very quick foot work two days before our sewing day, and we were blessed that Dawn and Rocco volunteered there home for us to use on Saturday. We did have a great day, it did take a bit of time to remember how things work in a “real” home, but our host and hostess definitely made it easy for us.

Dawn had an overwhelming pile of bedding that she made (we still haven’t seen her minions under the steps yet!! lol), and such beautiful colors and perfectly matched!

Lisa talked with Bookdale and it looks like all the renovation will be completed, and we should be back on schedule in our room next month. Hope to see you all there!!

January 2019 Sew day

Hi Everyone:
We had a fun time for our first sew day of the year. Lisa organized a wonderful BBQ, and make delicious sides so that we could stay in our crafting room and keep going on our ferret bedding.

Here is our first Crafty Weasel Sew Day of 2019 Picture. The wonderful Christmas decorations were still up at Brookdale. Karen is holding Fi, Morgan’s boy. Johnny didn’t get into the first picture, but he was lucky and had a separate picture with Finch, Morgan Tangren’s other boy.

So, we had a really good start to our year, and we also have a nice amount in process that we will be able to work on next month.

December 2018 Fun Sew Day

The Crafty Weasels finished off the year with a fun sew day, and sharing of all types of food in the Brookdale Crafting Room. Johnny brought his two sweet girls to share with us and the residents.

No group picture was taken, not even food pictures were taken. But we had a great time making rope baskets and microwave bowls. The one picture I took was of Georgina, who has helped us for quite sometime. Here is the message and picture that I posted on FB:

“Is this not the sweetest face ever? This is Georgina from our Crafty Weasel Fun sew day today. She’s, a resident at Brookdale, that helps us each month pinning ferret bedding. It is the only picture we took today, but it will always be my favorite. She gave up sewing when her muscular degeneration got too bad for her eyes to see fine clothing. She made this rope basket today!!”

November 2018 Sew Day

Saturday at the crafty weasels sewing day, we were short of some of our regulars. The good news is that we had gotten lots of the bedding almost to the second to last step. This full bag is what we were able to complete!!
Morgan, is holding Sue Pyron’s little girl.

The residents at the nursing home always love to have the ferrets there to visit.

Now, it doesn’t look like our total is as big as usual, but the good news is there is a lot of stuff that is just right there at the end waiting for the last two final steps ….so we should be able to make up the count next month. Hoping we have a huge turnout to get it all accomplished.

September 2018 Sew Day

Well, we were a small group, but very accomplished on this month. Lisa brought some wonderful cupcakes, also meat, cheese and crackers to help celebrate Elsa’s Wedding. I’ve attached a picture to this message, and it was taken in the dining room where we have lunch. Our resident Crafty Weasel, Georgina, had to go have lunch with her husband so wasn’t in the picture this time. She is actively recruiting other residents, and hoping that we will have a couple more residents to help us next month.
