Wow … what a day we had – being the first one of the year, I believe we started on the right foot.

November 2014 Sew Day
(I either can’t find the photo or it doesn’t exist, so enjoy a pair of Crafty Weasels instead! Morgan’s Boomer and Nikki’s Crazy Man)
Karen, you are right, we really did get things accomplished on Saturday. Not only did we have a table in the festival area, but we continued sewing too. Lisa made some absolutely WONDERFUL Cupcakes to sell at the table, and also made some extra braided toys. Jennifer donated a beautiful knitted scarf to sell – very pretty colors of blue.

June 2014 Sew Day
Wow … What a sew day. We were there to participate in adoption and family picnic day, and I think we made a wonderful impression on the residents and their family members. Beck and her beautiful ferrets were our ambassadors to the community and they really put on a great show for everyone. Poor things were tuckered out by 2:00 — they did the work of 15 ferrets! They all left before the group picture was taken, but hopefully we can get Beck to post some cute pictures of them.
Megan, Rob and Draven came to help for possibly their last sew day, because they are moving back to Nebraska, so to be closer to family. Megan offered to get on a machine, and started putting buttons on PennyButton hammies, Rob did pinning, and Draven (he was our first CW Baby!) was perfectly happy with his electronics, we all decided we’d adopt him in a heart beat!!
Marie, attended with her one month old little boy. I saw several residents enjoying having a baby there too.
Lisa, Mary Ann, Jonathan, and Chris were all real trouper for being outside at the CW Table next to the rescue table. AND, no one went home with an extra puppy – from what I understand they were adorable!
They had a table set up for Kindness Matters Ferret Shelter, but Debbie already had a trip planned to Florida for a family gathering. Judy and her whole family were able to attend and helped out from the beginning to the end. I wasn’t able to get all of them that attended, but some were in our picture.
I haven’t had a chance to unpack the car, so I don’t know our totals. Truthfully, I think we were there more for meeting the public, selling a bit of bedding, than sewing, but we did get things accomplished, and other stuff ready for next sew day.

Thanks everyone for coming for the day … each person makes such a big difference, and we sure showed up well for the ferret community. We got lots of positive comments from Diane (lady that Lisa set up for us to have this wonderful space), she said everyone was impressed by what we do, and all the staff and residents say such positive things to her all the time about our group.
I appreciate each and every one of you, and so thrilled to call you “family”.

May 2014 Sew Day
Being Mother’s Day, I know it was tough for several of our regulars and others to be able to attend our meeting yesterday. Christy came in bright and early to leave a really pretty license plate for Meliah.
New Location for Crafty Weasels Sew Days
There is some great news for the Crafty Weasels.
We put out the intent at the beginning of the year to find the right location that we can meet monthly in a large room. Well several started helping (thanks Megan) and putting things into the right direction. Lisa Melton Cook called me and told me that she would find a place for us and not stop until she did. Well, after lots of phone calls, and not getting the response we needed, she had great news, and we had a place to look over and see if it worked for us.
Long story shorter – it is Chambrel at Roswell. The facility is beautiful, elegant, and they are excited to have us there. It is truly all that we were envisioning.
